End of an Era

If President Obama getting elected makes the blog, then so too does the retirement of Oscar De La Hoya. His career has been an inspiration. "I've had the opportunity to face world champions. Alot of them I won. Some I lost.  But my satisfaction is because at least I tried. I tried to accomplish the impossible, and not too many people do that." - Link to ESPN article

This guy had it at all, the best Mexican American athlete of our times. This guy had class, style, and talent to boot. His scintillating victories were heart felt by us. The drama that built for his bouts was masterful. He was and will always be our "Hero" in boxing. Oscar, I tip my hat to your presence in our favorite sport. You always made us proud to be Mexican Americans...
