The Cattedrale Di Santa Maria Del Fiore is so elaborate on the outside, and painstakingly decorated on the inside ceiling, that the architect must have run out of funds.  The rest of the walls inside the cathedral are barren white.  It stands out when compared to the completely covered and ornamented cathedrals of those we have previously viewed.  However, hanging the unique clock on the inside was a solid effort to make up for the white walls.
